I seek and commission manuscripts in the areas of literary studies, literary translations, and literary biography as well as politics and current affairs. Both trade and scholarly submissions are welcome.
In the areas of literary studies, my interests are broad, encompassing American, English, and world literature, modernism, history of criticism and theory, and the American publishing industry. My authors have included Francesco Orlando, Denise Gigante, David Mikics, Seth Lerer, Patricia M. Spacks, Robert Scholes, Lawrence Rainey, and the late A.D. Nuttall. Literary biographers have included Wayne Franklin, Ralph Pite, and William C. Carter.
In the areas of politics, current affairs, and social issues, I seek political journalism as well as manuscripts that explore questions about globalization, democracy, and human dignity. My authors have included George Kateb, Richard Sennett, Anne Norton, and Jedediah Purdy.
