Harvard University Press has partnered with De Gruyter to make available for sale worldwide virtually all in-copyright HUP books that had become unavailable since their original publication. The 2,800 titles in the “e-ditions” program can be purchased individually as PDF eBooks or as hardcover reprint (“print-on-demand”) editions via the “Available from De Gruyter” link above. They are also available to institutions in ten separate subject-area packages that reflect the entire spectrum of the Press’s catalog. More about the E-ditions Program »
What can labor-management production committees accomplish, and how? The author examines the results of joint committee work in large and small plants both during the war and since, with special emphasis on the participation of rank and file workers and minor supervisors as well as that of union leaders and top management. She shows, with many concrete examples, what techniques have proved successful in improving the quality of products, the methods of production, and constructive employer-labor relations. Dorothea de Schweinitz was regional director of the NLRB for five years. Management, union leaders, students, and personnel people will find her study illuminating.
