The Harvard University Press Display Room
With great sadness we report that, effective June 30 2009, with the expiration of our lease, HUP will be permanently closing the Display Room in the Holyoke Arcade.
The Display Room and especially its talented and dedicated staff, Jeff Flemming, Gilly Parker, and Barry Duncan, have been the public face of HUP to the Harvard community and the general public for many years. The reduced-price "Bargain Alcove" where damaged books were sold at a discount was also a popular feature. Over the last several years, we were able to subsidize this service to the community but circumstances have changed at the university, in the general economy, and in the publishing world, and we can no longer continue as we had in the past.
In Harvard Square, the Harvard Book Store and the Harvard Coop Bookstore continue to be a good source of Harvard University Press titles. You may also check these Web sites for information on hard-to-find and out-of-print books:
