Examination (Inspection) and Desk Copy Policy

If you are an academic working within the United States, Canada, or any region not listed above, please send your request to our warehouse in Cumberland, Rhode Island.

Harvard University Press paperbacks (maximum of three titles) are offered for examination, for free plus the cost of shipping ($5 per copy in the U.S.), to qualifying professors. To receive an examination copy, please write to us on your department letterhead and include your course title, semester(s) offered, expected enrollment, text(s) currently used, and your adoption decision deadline. We are unable to offer free examination copies of cloth books. We do, however, offer a 10% academic discount for prepaid requests of cloth books being considered for course adoption. All examination copies are provided at our discretion.

DESK COPIES
If one of our titles is adopted as a text and an order has been placed with your college bookstore for a minimum of 10 copies, we will send a desk copy at no charge. We require that you send to us, in writing on school letterhead, the name of the bookstore, the quantity ordered, the course title, and the address to which the desk copy should be sent. We cannot process any exam or desk copy requests via email or telephone. You must submit both kinds of request in writing on your department letterhead.
