I seek and commission manuscripts in literary studies, literary and cultural history, and political theory as well as political science. I am also interested in biography. Translations comprise a small but important portion of my list (for example, Albert Camus’ Algerian Chronicles). Both trade and scholarly submissions are welcome. In the areas of literary studies, my interests are broad: American, English, and world literature, modernism, poetics, history of criticism and theory, and the American publishing industry. Brian Boyd, Stephen Burt, Jonathan Culler, Robert Douglas-Fairhurst, Leland de la Durantaye, Mark Ford, Denise Gigante, Jerome McGann, Patricia Meyer Spacks, David Trotter, Marina Warner, and Helen Vendler are some of my authors. In the areas of political science, political theory, and social issues, I am interested in questions concerning globalization, technology and surveillance, democracy, and human dignity. My authors include David Bromwich, David Grewal, George Kateb, Jedediah Purdy, Zephyr Teachout, and Richard Wolin.
