I seek and commission manuscripts in literary studies, literary and cultural history, and political thought. I am also interested in biography. Translations into English comprise a small but important portion of my list (for example, Albert Camus’ Algerian Chronicles). Both trade and scholarly submissions are welcome. In the areas of literary studies, my interests are broad: American, English, and world literature, modernism, poetics, history of criticism and theory, and the American publishing industry. Brian Boyd, Stephen Burt, Jonathan Culler, Jerome McGann, Denise Gigante, Robert Douglas-Fairhurst, David Trotter, Patricia Meyer Spacks, David Mikics, Marina Warner, and Helen Vendler are some of my authors. In the areas of politics, political philosophy, and social issues, I am interested in questions concerning globalization, technology, democracy, and human dignity. My authors include David Bromwich, David Grewal, George Kateb, Jedediah Purdy, Zephyr Teachout, and Richard Wolin.
