Harvard University Press has partnered with De Gruyter to make available for sale worldwide virtually all in-copyright HUP books that had become unavailable since their original publication. The 2,800 titles in the “e-ditions” program can be purchased individually as PDF eBooks or as hardcover reprint (“print-on-demand”) editions via the “Available from De Gruyter” link above. They are also available to institutions in ten separate subject-area packages that reflect the entire spectrum of the Press’s catalog. More about the E-ditions Program »
Snow crystals have formed the subject of the author’s research for the past twenty years. From visual observation and photomicrographs, he classified the types of crystal that are seen in nature, including several that had not previously been found. Then in the laboratory, he succeeded in growing crystals of all these types. This unique work led to valuable meteorologic observations. The hundreds of pictures of snow crystals in this book will fascinate and instruct both scientists interested in the structure of crystals and all others who delight in beauty of design.
