Hydroelectric development has, in a number of significant ways, been an important factor in the economic growth of Quebec during this century. The industrial progress of this Canadian province has largely coincided with the hydroelectric development. The major emphasis of the book is on the historical narrative of the evolution of the main power companies in Quebec, with special reference to their “market-building” activities.
