Application for Permission to Reprint or Reuse HUP Material
Permissions Home | FAQ | Application for Permission
Please note:
- You must fill out a separate application for each Harvard University Press work for which you are seeking reprint permissions. (In the majority of cases, one work = one book. For multi-volume sets, typically one work = one ISBN.) Combining requests for content from multiple HUP works into a single application will delay our response.
- Partially-completed forms cannot be saved. We recommend that you gather all the necessary information before you begin. As Permissions Department requirements change periodically, we strongly recommend that you read our Frequently Asked Questions in full before proceeding.
- Licenses are issued in the order in which full and complete applications are received.
Replacement Applications
If you recently submitted an application and you have not yet received a response with a Reference Number from the Permissions Department, but you need to correct, or replace information you provided, please choose “replacement for a previous application” below. We assume that any Replacement Application you submit is full and complete (freestanding) and we will discard any previous applications still pending in our system. We will not chain together multiple partial applications for the same work and project.
